The Connecticut Rivers Council holds several special events each year providing a fun way to support Scouting while providing a great way to provide exposure for our sponsors!
Golf Outings
We currently run one great golf outing on a yearly basis. The outing is a great run event that raises significant funds for Scouting here in Connecticut. For more information on the outings click the banners or links below.

Clay Shoots
The Connecticut Rivers Council is proud to offer two premier Shooting sports events in the calendar year. Our Shooting Sports events are all about location, location, location. Both of these Clay Shoots are held at world-class facilities and are headlined by corporate sponsors and volunteers. All proceeds benefit the Scouts of the Council.

The Orvis Sandanona Shooting Sports Clay Shoot is a premier clay shoot held at Orvis Sandanona Shooting Grounds in Millbrook, NY. The Orvis Shoot is our longest-running clay shoot. If you or your company is interested in participating in the shoot in September please contact Marjorie Dedrick.
The Connecticut Rivers Council Clay Shoot Invitational is another great opportunity to support scouting. The format is 5 shooters per team. Breakfast and BBQ lunch are provided as well as raffles, games, and prizes for the top teams. No Gun Rentals provided, all shooters will need to bring their own shotgun and ammo. The Council working with and through various committees across the state have put on a number of events and ceremonies throughout the year that honor Scouts, volunteers, and community leaders to benefit Scouting locally. The Salute to Youth is the largest Dinner the Council and the Development volunteers run on an annual basis. The dinner is usually held in the fall and honors region-wide business leaders, Scouts, and other impactful leaders in the state. OIW Shining Stars event is a special and unique event that specializes in honoring women leadership in Connecticut. This event is held in the summer annually. We have a dynamic and influential committee and work with and through them to make the event one of a kind. Charter Oak Eagle Recognition Dinner

The Charter Oak District and its leadership put on a big Eagle Scout recognition dinner in the early part of the year. It honors both community leaders in greater Hartford and Eagle Scouts in the area. The Charter Oak Eagle Dinner is planned for Jan 8th of 2024!
